# Create a spend requisition

POST https://api.yunojuno.com/spend_requests/
Content-Type: application/json

Create a spend requisition.

Create a spend requisition for a hirer. Spend requisitions are pre-contract funding requests that flow through approvals. You can include custom fields configured on your client account and optionally set an external ID for idempotency and later lookup.

Note: Spend Requisition was previously named Spend Request. Some programmatic names use the old terminology.

Reference: https://docs.yunojuno.com/client-api/spend-requisitions/spend-requests-create

## Authentication

- `Authorization` header (bearer token, required) — Bearer authentication of the form `Bearer <token>`, where token is your auth token.

## Request

### Body (application/json)

This endpoint expects a CreateSpendRequest.

- `hirer` (string, required) — The identifier or the email address of the hirer creating the spend requisition.
- `title` (string, required) — The title of the spend requisition.
- `description` (string, required) — A detailed description of the spend requisition.
- `amount` (string, required) — The amount of money requested.
- `amount_type` (enum, required) — The type of the amount requested. * `DAY_RATE` - Day rate * `TOTAL` - Total
  - Allowed values: `DAY_RATE`, `TOTAL`
- `currency` (enum, required) — The currency in which the amount is specified. * `AUD` - $ AUD * `CAD` - $ CAD * `CHF` - ₣ CHF * `CZK` - Kč CZK * `DKK` - kr DKK * `EUR` - € EUR * `GBP` - £ GBP * `HKD` - $ HKD * `INR` - ₹ INR * `NOK` - kr NOK * `NZD` - $ NZD * `PLN` - zł PLN * `SEK` - kr SEK * `SGD` - $ SGD * `AED` - د.إ AED * `USD` - $ USD * `ZAR` - R ZAR
  - Allowed values: `AUD`, `CAD`, `CHF`, `CZK`, `DKK`, `EUR`, `GBP`, `HKD`, `INR`, `NOK`, `NZD`, `PLN`, `SEK`, `SGD`, `AED`, `USD`, `ZAR`
- `custom_fields` (list of CustomField, optional) — An array of custom fields specific to the spend requisition.
- `external_id` (string, optional, default: ) — An external identifier for the spend requisition, optional.
- `spend_request_configuration` (string, optional, default: ) — The identifier of the configuration to create the spend requisition against.

## Response

### 201

- `data` (SpendRequest, required) — The spend requisition object. This object represents a request to commit spend on the YunoJuno platform. Spend Requisition was previously named Spend Request in the API documentation; some programmatic names use the old terminology.

## Errors

### 400 Bad Request Error

The request body does not match the expected shape: a required field is missing or blank, amount is not a decimal with at most two decimal places, or amount_type is not a supported value.

- `error` (Error, required)

### 401 Unauthorized Error

The access token is missing or invalid.

- `error` (Error, required)

### 404 Not Found Error

Something the request refers to does not exist for your client account: the hirer, or the spend requisition configuration you named. You also get this when you omit spend_request_configuration and your account has no active configuration at all.

- `error` (Error, required)

### 409 Conflict Error

You have already created a spend requisition with this external_id. Use it to look up the existing one rather than creating another.

- `error` (Error, required)

### 422 Unprocessable Entity Error

The request is well-formed but cannot be applied: the currency is not enabled for your account, the hirer is not activated, a custom field is unknown to the configuration or missing a required value, or you omitted spend_request_configuration while your account has more than one active configuration to choose between.

- `error` (Error, required)

## Types

### CustomField

Represents a single custom field.

- `name` (string, required) — The name of the custom field.
- `value` (string, required) — The value of the custom field.
